A dramatic story about a woman who disguises herself as a man in order to get a job at a jail where her husband is being held as a political prisoner.
The only opera by Ludwig van Beethoven, performed in honor of his 250th birthday.
Presented in collaboration with Amnesty International and the Ohio Innocence Project. There will be a presentation and discussion on criminal justice reform 1 hour before each performance.
Running time of the opera is 2 hours and 10 minutes of music, plus a 15 minute intermission.
Will full orchestral accompaniment, conducted by Isaac Selya.
